Alistair’s Silence: Enabling Corruption While Canada Struggled

One of Alistair MacGregor’s greatest and undeniable failures was betraying Canadians by keeping Trudeau’s scandal-ridden government in power. Again and again, he and the NDP had the chance to vote non-confidence, to stand up for accountability—but instead, they chose to prop it up, enabling the very corruption they should have opposed.

When Parliament ordered the government to hand over critical documents to the RCMP—documents that could have exposed serious misconduct—the NDP, including Alistair, refused to uphold that demand. For months, they had assured Canadians they would hold the government accountable, yet when the moment of truth arrived: they backed down—once again prioritizing their political ties over their duty to the public. By siding with the government, Alistair also enabled its decision to shut down Parliament to avoid further scrutiny, blocking any real debate or accountability.

This wasn’t just bad judgment—it was a conscious choice to protect a government in crisis rather than stand up for Canadians. At a time when the U.S. was hitting Canada hard with tariffs, Parliament should have been focused on defending our economy, not covering up scandals. If you want someone who puts honesty and integrity first, vote for Jeff Kibble, Conservative candidate for Cowichan-Malahat-Langford.
